Gifted Mentoring 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago

So I've finally got 'round to signing up for gifted mentoring with the public schools here.
The kids choose areas of interest they want to work on outside of school. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I'll be matched with a student who is interested in comparative myth and Egyptian mythology.
Has anyone else participated in something like this?
If you're aware of any good resources on myth, particularly for middle schoolers, they would be much appreciated.

Hi barefoot:
As someone who's had some teaching experience, I've found that you can't stop a good student from learning. It's not about the resources, it's about letting the student discover. For my part, I would say that you should get a book that turns the myths into really good stories and read them with your student. Let him/her begin to unravel the puzzles. My bias is to compare creation myths. The Egyptian, Hebrew and Babylonian myths are very interesting and their comparison raises some great questions.
As far as historic background is concerned, I'm not sure comparitive myth requires that much. Many of the questions will emerge from the discussion.
Hope this is helpful and I hope it goes well.
